In 1927, in the town of Surhuisterveen in Friesland, Roelf Kok began the production of wired mattresses under the name of AVEK.

Nowadays, the product range includes box springs, mattresses, spring mesh bed bases and space-saving beds. KommerKors has been designing beds for Avek since 1999.
